To follow-up on addressing water distribution in the RaMPs
that we discussed last Friday, I have measured the droplet patterns for the 2
nozzles we use and plotted them in the following diagram. The map is
approximately to scale. The blue dots (6 inches diameter) represent the location
on the ground where a droplet stream falls. Each standard nozzle (light blue)
has 24 streams while the center nozzle (dark blue) has 2 – 33 stream outputs).
As you see, the portions of the subplots nearest the center receive
significantly more water than the outer corners. Please note that this
distribution pattern assumes no wind and zero canopy height. I will send this to
the design engineers at Senninger to get their recommendations to get more even
distribution in the subplots.
