This database includes a portion of the original data collected by LTER researchers.  Please see the definitions and explanations at http://www.konza.ksu.edu/.  Look in “On-line Data”/Table of Contents/Grasshoppers/Methods Manual.  For example, the “Replicate” column here contains two different transects which were counted on the same date.  These must be added together and divided by 2 to get the value of one transect.  Each transect here had 200 sweeps, not 100 sweeps as in the student database.  In order to put the two databases on equal standing, the “Total” here was divided by 2 to form the Tables given in the Queries.
