Abstract:
Konza Prairie Soils contains 1:24,000 soils polygons for the Konza Prairie Biological Station. The coverage was created by clipping and joining SSURGO quad coverages. Soil type difference across the Riley/Geary county line were reconciled with the aid of an NRCS soil scientist. These data originated from non-SSURGO certified coverages and should be considered as preliminary.
Purpose:
To delineate boundaries of soil types occuring within KPBS.

These data originate from non-SSURGO certified data and are to be considered preliminary. Final SSURGO soil type designations may differ from those found in this dataset.

Soils coverage is based upon preliminary digital soil survey data. Inconsistencies between soil type designations exist between Riley and Geary county soils surveys. These inconsistencies have been resolved with the aid of an NRCS soil scientist. However, final designation of soil type names may change during the SSURGO certification process.
